Career

Yi Zhi worked in the financial industry up until a few years before the series started. He refers to this often enough that it is dismissed as boasting by the Qibao Street regulars, but when Shen Tunan visits he recognises Yi Zhi immediately, and even offers to find him a job again.

At the time that the early episodes of the drama take place, Yi Zhi is retired, living in Aunt Zhou's boarding house and playing chess (for money?).
