We've got MediaWiki up and running, and I'm working on the rest of it. Thrilling advances in technology: to create a new page, search for a character name, click the red text to create the page, and then type {{character}}. You may only need to type the braces before getting a popup to insert a template—if that's the case, just type character there and tell it to insert. This process will be improved at some point, but not today.
